In an effort to ensure the continued development of the Strawberry Music Player, the source code will remain open-source and free software. However, binary releases will no longer be available for all users. To make exceptions for those who have previously donated money, I will continue to provide access to future macOS releases for sponsors.

While I will do my best to fix reported bugs and issues, there is no guarantee that all problems can be resolved. I am setting a minimum of 30 users willing to sponsor the project with $5 per month each. Additionally, regular sponsorship is required to cover time spent on making releases, solving issues, and providing support.

To continue developing Strawberry Music Player for macOS, I will require a dedicated machine. Specifically, I need a Mac Mini (M2 8-Core / 8GB RAM / 256GB HDD) which costs around $760. This machine will be used exclusively for Strawberry development, building releases, testing, and debugging macOS-specific issues.

Unfortunately, it is not possible to run ARM64-based macOS on an x86_64-based computer, which is the case for most users today. The results have been unreliable and slow. I previously ran a macOS Big Sur in VirtualBox but encountered issues when attempting to upgrade to Ventura.

To continue making macOS releases, more sponsors and financial support are needed to purchase the necessary hardware. If 20 users are willing to donate $38 each, this goal can be reached.
